1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using Transit Pulse, you affirm that you are either of legal age to form a binding contract or have obtained explicit parental/guardian or institutional consent to use this service.
2. Description of Service
Transit Pulse is a real-time transit tracking platform designed to connect drivers, students, parents, passengers, and institutional administrators.
- For Drivers: The App allows you to broadcast vehicle location data to authorized users.
- For Passengers/Students/Parents: The App allows you to view real-time vehicle locations, estimate arrival times, and receive proximity notifications.
3. Account Registration & User Roles
To use the App, you must register and maintain an active account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
You must register under one of the following applicable roles:
- Drivers: Responsible for broadcasting accurate trip and route data.
- Passengers, Students, & Parents: Authorized to view tracking data for designated routes.
- Institutional Administrators: Authorized to manage safety logs, routes, and user access.
4. Location Data & Device Permissions
The core functionality of Transit Pulse relies entirely on location tracking. By using the App, you grant us permission to access your device's location services.
- Driver Background Tracking: If you are a Driver, you explicitly acknowledge and agree that the App will collect your precise location data in the background (even when the App is closed or not in use) from the moment a journey is initiated until it is officially ended in the interface.
- Passenger Tracking: If you are a Passenger, Student, or Parent, the App accesses your location only while the App is actively open and in use to calculate proximity alerts and ETAs.
- Opt-Out: You can disable location tracking via your device settings at any time, but doing so will render the tracking and notification features non-functional.
5. Acceptable Use & Restrictive Access
Transit Pulse is designed for authorized educational and institutional transit tracking. You agree not to:
- Share tracking access, route details, or secure tokens with unauthorized third parties.
- Use the App for any illegal, unauthorized, or unintended surveillance purposes.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disrupt, or compromise the App's tracking encryption, Firebase, Mapbox, or other third-party cloud integrations.
6. Children's Privacy & Safety
If the App is utilized by students under the age of 13, account creation and usage must be managed, overseen, or approved by parents, legal guardians, or the participating educational institution.
7. Data Deletion and Account Termination
You have the right to request the deletion of your account and historical data at any time. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App immediately, without prior notice, if you breach any provision of these Terms or engage in conduct that jeopardizes the safety of the platform's users.
8. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimers
- "As-Is" Service: Transit Pulse is provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis. While we strive for absolute precision, we do not guarantee that real-time tracking, ETA calculations, or map rendering will always be 100% accurate, continuous, or error-free due to potential cellular network or GPS dependencies.
- No Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Transit Pulse shall not be liable for missed transits, schedule delays, network drops, or any indirect or consequential damages arising out of your use of the App.
9. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of any changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of these Terms and posting the updated version within the App. Your continued use of the App after modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
